AC-Sys were contacted when an existing SIS (safety instrumented system) was becoming unreliable. The existing system was using old technology which we replaced with modern instruments and integrated into a new control panel using a safety PLC.

The system functionality was to monitor potentially explosive atmospheres in the process lines, and dangerous gas limits within a building.
Due to the LOPA study it was also necessary to reliably feed back all signals to the main control system, while the SIS would protect the process beyond its ultimate limits external to the main control system.

We provided all the electrical design, control panel design, site installation supervision, hardware selection, functional description, safety PLC software.

This was achieved by deploying instruments with Drager and designing a new PLC panel which accepts all of the signals, to determine process trips.
