Variable speed drives for the control of AC motors has become common for many industries, due to their lower cost, energy saving qualities and less aggressive mechanical stresses. However not all VSD’s are the same and careful selection needs to take place to ensure that the selected drive is not under or over specified.

AC-Sys have experience of compiling feasibility studies and payback reports for pump fan and conveying applications. Just adding a drive alone is not always the most effective measure and energy saving modes may be required to fully exploit the pay back period.

Due to our extensive knowledge we can add field bus integration drives to most propriety networks giving extended information to the higher level controller. This allows the current run time’s temperatures to be incorporated in to maintenance plans or speed adjustment/ramp times and can take place without the need for an electrical technician, or through a recipe driven system.
